A prototype created to concept a fishing system.  As opposed to more common fishing systems, there were several important requirements that made this a more interesting problem.

  1. Fish should not be harmed
  2. Has RPG and progression hooks
  3. Must match the game's  science fiction setting
  4. Minimize the need for art assets

With the requirements in place a previous "rod & reel" approach was abandoned.  Instead players would drive a probe that could scan fish.  The probe and fish had a wide variety of stats that affect the mini-game, making it possible to customize the probe and enable it to better scan different kinds of fish.
